About the Project

The River Arts Project is intended to allow musicians, artists and community organizations to promote their works, their activities and their events. Using the basic services of the project (event listing & info sheet) is free and is intended to remain so.

The idea behind the project is that individuals and organizations who are part of a community should be able to promote their works and that giving everybody access to do so improves the community as a whole. Allowing for independent promotion of one's work though a community resource moves the power away from large media sources and brings it back to the hands of individuals and small organizations.

Every member of this group has the option to participate in a database of shows & events as well as an online shopping cart system (which can be used to sell event tickets as well as merchandise). Membership includes a free bio & and several other services. If the site is successful at this level, profits may be redirected towards other services as well.
